Understanding how exploitation is experienced, how prolonged manipulation shapes behaviour, and how professional systems respond. This includes grooming, coercive control, conditioning, trauma bonding, dependency, disengagement, survival behaviour, institutional barriers, and misunderstood victim responses.
Recovery & Wellbeing
Understanding how trauma affects the body, mind, relationships, and everyday life. This includes nervous system regulation, safety, trust, communication, boundaries, daily stability, rest, nourishment, personal agency, identity, and the practical foundations of sustainable recovery. Throughout daily living.
Professional Education & Consultation
Helping professionals recognise exploitation more accurately, understand the context behind behaviour, and respond with greater clarity, compassion, consistency, and accountability. This includes education, training, consultation, reflective practice, informed judgements, and stronger trauma-aware supports.

BEHIND THE PLATFORM

The platform brings together lived experience, research, education, and practical wellbeing to examine how sexual exploitation is experienced, why survivor responses are so often misunderstood, and how professionals and institutions can respond with greater insight, care, and accountability.
LA also draws attention to the role of rehabilitation and body wellness following sexual exploitation. It supports professionals, as well as others who come into contact with victims and survivors, in understanding how safety, physical wellbeing, stability, trust, and personal agency can shape a person’s capacity to re-engage with everyday life, education, employment, and relationships.
The aim is to encourage professional responses that are better informed, more sensitive to the realities of exploitation, and more supportive of long-term rehabilitation.
SAFE COMMUNICATION CHANGES OUTCOMES
Survivors are often judged for the very responses that helped them survive.
Survivor behaviour is often interpreted without understanding the trauma, coercion, and survival strategies behind it. Trauma-aware communication helps professionals look beyond what is immediately visible and respond with greater accuracy, safety, and compassion.
